2012 Yesteryear Museum Antique Steam Engine & Tractor Show, Salina, Kansas, October 13 & 14

General Events run Saturday and Sunday, October 13 and 14, 9 a.m. to
5 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, children under 12 free.

Saturday features tractor-powered agricultural demonstrations and the Tractor Parade, this year featuring “oddball tractor” makes such as Gibson, OMC and White. Sunday features the traditional tractor pull and children’s pedal pull event.

Also on the grounds will be working horses and mules, a petting zoo, country schoolhouse and church events, country crafts, good country meals, and many other events.

Saturday, October 13 Event Schedule

7 a.m. to  9 a.m. Pancake Breakfast
Pancakes free, additional items such as eggs, sausage, coffee are extra at a minimal cost.

Saturday Morning Events

Event times are difficult to predict.  They will be announced over the loudspeakers:

  •  Lentz burrmill
  •  Forage binding
  •  1861 Sawmill powered by the Reeves 25hp double simple Steam Traction Engine. Times to be announced. 
  • Wagon Ride by Mules throughout the day as announced.
  •  Sorghum Grinding by Horse  A first step to molasses!  Demonstration with Q&A.
  •  Cider Press
  •  Rope Making
  •  The 1923 Cox One-Room Schoolhouse.  Q&A with the teacher.  Throughout the day.
  •  Tractors on Display
  •  Petting Zoo
  •  The country church building
  •  Gas station
  •  Textile Craft Demonstrations
  •  Cake Walks
  •  Other vendor displays and booths

 


Saturday Noon Events

Parade of Tractors
This year we are featuring Oddball Tractors (examples: Gibson, OMC and White).

Lunch
A great homestyle farm meal, made from scratch.

Saturday Afternoon Events
4 p.m. – Marquette Cloggers
6 p.m. – Pig Roast Dinner
Cost for adult $8.00. Children under 12 $4.00. Small children under 2 are free. Sides will include potato salad, baked beans, cole slaw and ice cream.

Sunday, October 14 Event Schedule

7 a.m. to  9 a.m. Pancake Breakfast

1:30 p.m. – Traditional Tractor Pull
(Participants: 
Weigh in on the grounds of the museum, starting around 9:30 a.m. ‘til just before the 1 p.m., brief meeting to go over the rules.)

2 p.m. – Children’s Pedal Pull
Registration starts 1 p.m.(?)   This is a state sanctioned pull and is provided by Bill and Leann Vandercreek of Abilene, who also do the Children’s Pull at the State Fair.
